Backup From a Read-Replica Node

Connect your read replica node instead of your main DB instance

Using Read Replicas for Database Backups

To reduce the load on your main live database during backup processes, you can use read replica nodes. This helps minimize performance impacts on your production environment, especially during peak times.

For MongoDB:

When connecting to a MongoDB read replica, include the following in your connection string:

?replicaSet=replica-set-name&authSource=admin

Example Connection String:

mongodb://username:password@replica-host-name/dbname?replicaSet=replica-set-name&authSource=admin

Make sure to replace username, password, replica-host-name ,dbname , replica-set-name with your actual values.
